Janet Jackson is today's focus in our Friday Flashback.  Born in Gary, Indiana on May 16, 1966, Janet became the youngest member of a very talented family.  Sister of, The Jacksons, Janet made her own mark in the acting and music world.   Television roles on "Good Times", "Diff'rent Strokes", and "Fame", plus movies roles including "Poetic Justice" and "The Nutty Professor".

On this day, July 5, 1986, Janet Jackson climbed to number one on the U.S. album chart with "Control".  She remained at number one for two weeks.
