A dispute Tuesday night on Maple St. in Oneonta resulted in three drug arrests by the Oneonta Police Department.

Police responded to a reported fight in progress at 40 Maple St., and through an investigation, police say drugs were determined to be the cause of the dispute.

Further investigation by the patrol and detective division resulted in the discovery of drugs, cash and a firearm.

The following people were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, a Class B Felony with a sentence of up to 9 years in prison:

  • Terell S. Hardy, 37, of Bronx
  • Jose M. Gonzales, 20, of Bronx
  • David A. Kohls, 21, of Oneonta

Police say they seized 409 bags of heroin and packaging material worth $8,000; a .22 Ruger Rifle; $2,992 in cash; 5.8 grams of marijuana; two hydrocodone pills; and two hypodermic needles.

Hardy, Gonzales, and Kohls were arraigned in front of Judge Lucy Bernier and remanded to the Otsego County Correctional Facility. Bail was set at $25,000 for Kohls, and $30,000 for Hardy and Gonzales.
