Increased Funding for NY Tuition Assistance Program
Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Tuesday that New York will increase funding for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP).
This is the first time in 14 years there has been a raise in the aid. The maximum TAP award is now $5,165, up from $5,000. With the increase, New York has allocated more than a billion dollars for grants and scholarships to New York students.
Last year 400,000 New York students were awarded TAP grants.
