It turns out a lot of people in the Oneonta area would love to be immortalized on film.  On wednesday, about 700 would be actors turned out at the Masonic Lodge in Oneonta for an open casting call for the movie, "The Journey Home" to be filmed in Oneonta and Franklin starting in March. Oneonta film Producers and Writers Lori Kelly Bailey and Joel Plue will be the creators of this film that takes place in Russia during WWII.

Bailey and Plue were looking to fill about 60 parts for the film and had to turn away 200 people Wednesday due to time constraints and the capacity of the building. However, those that didn't get their chance to audition and 100 others who communicated interest and couldn't make it, will most likely get their chance to try out for roles in the film.

Bailey expressed that she was very happy at the turnout and interest in the movie. Filming is expected to begin in March.
