Hazardous Driving Conditions Expected Today in Central NY

On my morning commute, it was very evident that with the wet precipitation we received yesterday and last night, coupled with colder temperatures over night, black ice was prevalent on the roads this morning and could continue to be an issue today and tonight with rain expected in Chenango, Delaware and Otsego counties. 

Here's the latest Hazardous Weather outlook from the National Weather Service:

"TODAY AND TONIGHT A COLD FRONT WILL BRING A BRIEF PERIOD OF HEAVY RAIN TODAY WHICH MAY CAUSE PONDING OF WATER ON THE ROADS AND IN LOW LYING AREAS. ALSO...THE BRIEF WARM- UP MAY CAUSE ICE JAM PROBLEMS ON SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS. NOT ENOUGH RAIN AND RUNOFF IS EXPECTED TO CAUSE PROBLEMS ON AREA RIVERS."
