In today's music history, we focus on John Lennon and The Beatles.   On June 18, 2010, John Lennon's handwritten lyrics for " A Day In The Life" sold for 1.2 million dollars at Sotheby's in New York. 

The words are inked in blue and black on a single piece of paper.  Edits and corrections were made in red ink.  Then, on the reverse side is a neater written version.  The song is the last track on the bands 1967 album "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band".  The song was written by both John Lennon and Paul McCartney and is clearly segmented.  Take a listen:

Oh, by the way. it is also Paul McCartney's Birthday today.  He is 70.
