Former Syracuse Basketball Player Signs With Knicks

Former Syracuse basketball player Andrew White has signed a contract with the New York Knicks according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

An NBA Exhibit 10 deal  allows the Knicks to convert a White's one-year, minimum contract into a two-way contract but this has to occur prior to the start of the regular season. A new way contract means the player can play for both the franchise's NBA team and G-League team. White joins a list of former Syracuse players who spent time with the Knicks franchise including John Wallace, Carmelo Anthony, Andy Rautins and Demetris Nichols.

Since leaving Syracuse in 2017, White has had a successful stint with the New York Knicks' D-League team, the Westchester Knicks. In a game back in November 2019, White made a franchise record nine three points in a game.

We will find out later this month if White ends up starting the regular season with the Knicks' NBA roster. The 2020-2021 version of the New York Knicks are scheduled to start their season on Wednesday December 23rd against the Indiana Packers. Tip off is scheduled for 7pm.

Unfortunately White's former school, Syracuse, lost their first game of the regular season 79-69 to a nationally ranked Rutgers team Tuesday night. Glens Falls native Joseph Girard III has continued to struggle early in his sophomore campaign. Girard III finished Tuesday's loss with just three points on 1-6 shooting from the field in thirty four minutes of action. The three points ties the lowest scoring performance in his collegiate career.

Girard III and the Orange look to grab their fourth win of the season Saturday against Boston College. Tipoff is scheduled for 1pm.
