As the social distancing and quarantine restrictions drag on past the one-month mark, officials are urging people not to ignore their emotional and mental well-being.

A number of traditional resources are not available for face-to-face service, but are offering help over the phone or online.  Referrals and advice can be found by calling the United Way’s 24-hour 211 information line.  This includes mental health information as well as help dealing with consumer fraud, food, housing, utilities, substance abuses and domestic violence.

The Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier operates the 24-hour Warm-Line for peer support at (607) 240-7291.

The New York State Mental Health Hotline is 844-893-9314 and was set up in the early stages of the outbreak and manned by over six-thousand professionals who stepped forward to volunteer their services.

The Crime Victims Assistance Center has counselor and advocates available to help in cases of domestic violence and child and elder abuse as well as other concerns of the victims of crime at (607) 722-4256.

The 24 hour New York State Domestic and Sexual Violence Hotline is 800-942-6906.

Also remember, if you just want to clear your head, besides going for a walk, listening to music or meditating on your own, there is a free online service called a New York State of Mind at headspace.com/ny.
