Yummy wassail, a traditional holiday drink.  Did you know that the tradition of drinking wassail was originally to ensure a good cider apple crop the following year?  I always thought that because it tasted so good that it must be difficult to make.  I can't believe I am going to say this but, I was wrong.  It is actually pretty easy.  I was given a super easy recipe that I'd love to share with you.  Step one, get your crock pot out.  I told this would be easy.  Here are the ingredients:

  • 1 gallon of apple juice
  • 1/2 box brown sugar
  • 1/2 jar orange breakfast drink mix
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 small can lemonade concentrate
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 orange sliced
  • 15 whole cloves

Mix apple juice, brown sugar, drink mix, cinnamon, lemonade and water.  Put in slow cooker and heat.  Add orange and cloves.  They will float on top, add flavor, and make it look all fancy.

Easy.  I plan on trying this out at a party this weekend.  It should smell incredible and I know it will impress people when they see that "hot wassail" sign in front of it.  Even if they don't drink it, they will be shocked that the girl that normally brings chips made it.
