On Monday morning Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies and New York State Police responded to a reported bomb threat at the Delaware Chenango Madison Otsego BOCES, Harrold Campus, in the Town of Masonville. The bomb threat was discovered written on a bathroom wall. The BOCES administration immediately initiated their emergency plan and evacuated the buildings. A search of the campus was then conducted by Deputies and New York State Troopers, assisted by Trooper Christopher May and his assigned explosive detection K-9, “Skiff”, and revealed no explosive devices. Following an investigation by BOCES staff members and the Delaware County Sheriff's Office School Resource Officer on campus, Deputies determined that a fourteen year old male was responsible for making the written threat. The fourteen year old youth and his legal guardian were subsequently issued a juvenile appearance ticket directing them to appear at the Delaware County Probation Department where the juvenile will answer a charge of Filing a False Report in the First Degree.
