Recently, my coworker Big Chuck and I were talking about the tiny little free libraries that exist in many communities across the United States.  They typically look somewhat like the one pictured below - a box with a glass door so you can see there are books inside and they come in many different shapes and sizes.

The Nonprofit organization that started this concept of book sharing is called "Little Free Library" and it's a concept that has taken off around the United States to promote the joy of reading.

The following is a great example of how creative people can get with the concept of the Little Library...

A woman from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho who had an old tree that needed to be taken down, decided that rather than cut down the entire tree, why not turn it into a very cool free library?  Sharalee Armitage Howard happens to have a special love for books as a librarian, artist, and former bookbinder and had the large stump of her old tree turned into the coolest free library you'll ever see!  Check it out in the video below...

Don't you just love this? You don't have to get that fancy with a Little Library of your own. You can make it quite simple if you wish to give it a try.
