Chenango County Man Arrested Following Domestic Dispute

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Chenango County man on January 3rd for an incident that occurred in the Town of Coventry.

Ronald J. Torre Sr., 56, of the Town of Coventry was arrested after the Sheriff’s Office was called to a domestic dispute. The reporting person claimed Torre had made threats while brandishing a knife. It was reported that during the argument Ronald obtained a handgun and walked out of the residence and fired into a parked vehicle before fleeing into another building on the premises.

Torre was intercepted and taken into custody as he was attempting to return to the initial residence. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing. He was arraigned in the Town of Coventry court and released on his own recognizance. He is expected to return at a later date.
