SpeechJammer is a new app that makes it difficult for users to speak by inhibiting the sense of hearing.

The app was released in March 2013 and works by a user plugging his or her headphones into their device. The user then turns up the volume, pushes a button and tries to talk. The app then delays the users voice as they speak and creates an effect. This combination makes the act of talking much more difficult for the user.

We challenged our DJs here at Townsquare Media in Oneonta to use the app while on-air Friday morning. Check out the videos of Big Chuck and Tracie getting tongue-tied.

The app is now available for free at the iTunes store. It’s compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod Touch (3rd, 4th, and 5th generation) and iPad. Try it out on your friends and see if you can take the challenge as well.
