More jobs are headed out of the empire state. The Bausch and Lomb optical company has announced a reduction in 200 jobs in the Rochester region, and it’s moving its headquarters to New Jersey.

This follows the loss of about 200 other jobs at a drug maker in Rochester announced for early next year.

Bausch says it will continue with its manufacturing operations in New York State. The company has about 1,700 people working in Monroe County.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo says the labor department will dispatch staff to help the soon-to-be unemployed workers find new jobs.

Bausch and Lomb began in Rochester in 1853.
