Attempted Robbery In Oneonta Thwarted
According to an Oneonta Police Department press release, on Tuesday January 10, at about 10:30 AM members of the City of Oneonta Police Department patrol division responded to Christopher’s Coins located at 254 Main Street, Oneonta NY for a report of disturbance with a customer. Upon arrival the officers observed a physical confrontation between the owner of the business and Timothy E. Arnold, 47 years of age, from Edmeston NY.
Subsequent to the investigation, Mr. Arnold was discovered to have entered the store and attempted to remove a box of coins valued at $1,500. The business owner called the police and stopped Mr. Arnold from leaving the store until the officers arrived. Mr. Arnold has been charged with:
• Burglary in the 3rd degree, class D felony
• Attempted grand larceny in the 4th degree, class E felony:
• Resisting arrest, class A misdemeanor
Mr. Arnold was held at the city of Oneonta Police Department until arraignment in the City of Oneonta Court.
