Arrest in Laurens

A man from Brooklyn is arrested for violating a protection order brought by an Oneonta resident. According to New York State Police,  they were called to a Laurens residence on Tuesday regarding a domestic violence incident and discovered Akil T. Wright was inside arguing with the person who brought the protection order against him. Wright was arraigned in Town of Laurens court on second degree Criminal Contempt charges and released on his own recognizance with his next appearance set for May 18.
