Another Sporting Event Canceled in New York State
More and more events are being canceled in New York State because of the coronavirus pandemic. Governor Cuomo announced earlier this week that the Great New State Fair and all county fairs will not happen this year.
Also earlier this week, we learned that the NASCAR race at the Watkins Glen International Speedway in mid-August will be moved to Daytona. Here's another blow for sports enthusiasts in New York State.
The Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.) officials announced that they are canceling the Bassmasters Elite Series Tournament at Cayuga Lake from July 14th to the 17th. They plan on having the competition at another location later this year.
Recently, New York released guidelines for professional sports competitions that included certain testing and protocols. The tournament was to take place at Union Springs in Cayuga County. Mayor, Bud Shattuck said that there just wasn't enough time. to get the guidelines in place before the competition began.
There is two more Bassmaster Elite tournament in upstate New York before the summer is through. SiteOne Bassmaster Elite tournament at the St. Lawerence River from July 23rd to the 26th and the Bassmaster Elite at Lake Champlain, July 30th to August 2nd.
