You chose Duran Duran as our featured Friday Flashback artist of the day.  This pop-rock group formed in Birmingham , England and was originally made of Simon LeBon on lead vocals, Andy Taylor on guitar, Nick Rhodes on keyboard (I was partial to him), John Taylor on bass, and Roger Taylor on drums.  By the way, the Taylors are not related.  In 1984, Andy and Roger left the band and went on to record with The Power Station in 1985.  Simon, Nick, and John then recorded as Arcadia.

In 1986, Duran  Duran became a trio of  Simon, Nick and John.  The band grew again in 1990 with guitarist Warren Cuccurullo of Missing Persons and Sterling Campbell on drums.  Sterling left in 1993 to join Soul Asylum in 1995.

Can you name the movie the group got their name from?  Barbarella starring Jane Fonda.  They named themselves after a villain in the film.
