Recent court battle between pop star Kesha and her label producer Dr. Luke has caused a major outbreak of controversy the past few weeks. Kesha has brought major allegations against Dr. Luke claiming he raped her and attempted to exert “suffocating control” over her life for the past 12 years. This law suit goes all the way back to Kesha’s life when she was the age of 18, where she was allegedly induced by Dr. Luke to drop out of High School.

Kesha had signed up with Dr. Luke’s music production company in 2005 and ever since then she has been under constant abuse. She states that Dr. Luke had threatened to ruin her career and her family if she ever went public about the ongoing abuse.

Kesha has finally decided to speak out and has filed a lawsuit that asserts causes of sexual assault and battery, sexual harassment, gender violence, civil harassment, unfair business, and intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress. Among all of these charges, they are also fighting to void Kesha’s recording agreements and allow her to freely enter other contracts with other recording and publishing companies.

This past Friday, the New York Supreme Court declined to grant Kesha a preliminary injunction that would free her from her six-album deal with Dr. Luke. This ruling has caused an out roar of disgust amongst the celebrity community and several stars have voiced their support and love for Kesha via social media.

Taylor Swift has recently donated $250,000 to help Kesha during this ongoing legal battle. Hollywood stars including Ariana Grande, Lorde, Lady Gaga, and Demi Lovato also reached out showing their support.

Lady Gaga tweets “There are people all over the world who love you @KeshaRose. And I can truly say I am in awe of your bravery.”

Ariana Grande tweets “My heart is with @KeshaRose. <3”

Lorde tweets “Standing with @KeshaRose through this traumatic, deeply unfair time. Send good vibes her way everyone.”

Demi Lovato tweets “#FreeKesha <3 This is only gonna make you stronger, you brave and beautiful girl. Prayers are with you @KeshaRose."
