Why is he your Cowboy Valentine?

Billy is my cowboy valentine on so many levels. I guess in order to understand that statement you have to understand where I was when I met him. I was a single mom of one daughter who was five years old at the time and who was in a on again off again bad relationship, living with my parents working at a job that we were living paycheck to paycheck on.
My friend said you have to meet my brother. He has my kids most of the time because he does so much for them like buying them a horse and taking them skating all the time just to give a few examples. I think you guys will hit it off.
Well I did meet him and three months later I found out we were pregnant and due to have a daughter. That was almost 10 years ago. In that time he supported us financially and emotionally while I went back to college to finish my degree so we could show our kids that it could be done even with raising “5” kids (his 2 nieces/nephew, my oldest daughter and our child together), working and doing everything else that came our way during those two years.
I have since had several health scares and issues but he has always been there for me pushing me to not let my illnesses stop me. There are days I just want to give up but he has never let me do that, just gives me the strength to keep going.
He also has loved my daughter like she was his own child and always tries to be fair for all the kids. He sometimes drives me nuts but what man doesn’t. The same can be said for me I am sure I drive him nuts too.
Somebody said to me the other day that is what makes a great relationship work really well -- having that love/hate give and take kind of love. I think that is what we have and I hope you do too and vote for my cowboy valentine.
