Worcester Caregiver Takes Plea Deal In Embezzlement Case

A woman from Worcester, NY who is charged with stealing nearly $33,000 from an elderly couple has taken a plea deal. According to AllOTSEGO, Stephanie Shulgay pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny for using the couple’s credit and debit cards to pay bills for herself and her elderly uncle while she worked as a caretaker between July 2017 and October 2018. Shulgay was sentenced to 12 weeks in jail and five years of probation. She has made full restitution to the couple.
