The City of the HIlls has always been a place that sure loved their bakeries.  We can all remember places in the past where we picked up our favorite cupcakes, desserts, cookies and cakes.  Some people's thoughts will go immediately to Elena's bakery.  Others, old timers perhaps, will reminisce about Frew's Bakery or even Deckers.  Well, Friday was the official opening of a new Main Street bakery, and we couldn't be happier!

King's Kakery at 281 Main Street, Oneonta celebrated the special day with a gala ribbon cutting ceremony attended by family, friends, customers, well-wishers and city officials.  Owner Alison King has been operating her business across the street since October, 2019 in the lower level at Ford and Main.  She is thrilled to be a part of the Main Street action now.

Oneonta Mayor Gary Herzig spoke words of congratulations and encouragement to Ms. King and her family.  Councilman Mark Drnek also spoke at the ribbon cutting ceremony.  Others who attended the event included Otsego County Chamber of Commerce president Al Rubin as well as Dennis Craig, the acting president of the State University of New York at Oneonta.  It was noted that Allison's daughter is a graduate of SUNY Oneonta..

All of us at Townsquare Media welcome Alison King and her family to the heart of downtown Oneonta.  And one more thing.  After the ceremony all of the attendees sampled the delicious goodies that will be sold at the bakery.  One dessert expert, Townsquare Media's radio personality "Big Chuck," declared that the cinnamon rolls should be put "on every foodie's bucket list!"
