Get ready, it's almost Turkey Trot time to benefit the families served by Helios Care in Otsego County. Due to COVID-19, this race will be virtual this year and dedicated in memory of long-time Oneontan and employee at Townsquare Media Oneonta, John Hayen.

John Hayen was an active Oneonta community member, sports personality and Townsquare Media Executive who recently passed away after an illness. John was a founding member of the Turkey Trot for Hospice Committee (2013) and was integral in the planning and support of the event. In recognition of his support, Helios Care is dedicating the 2020 virtual event to John's memory.

"We are all deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend John Hayen. Many will miss him and his passionate spirit,” said Kelly McGraw, Helios Care’s Director of Access and Turkey Trot Event Director. “Dedicating the 2020 race to John will allow Helios Care to show our gratitude for the enthusiasm he brought to this event and his advocacy on behalf of hospice care,” added McGraw.

The Turkey Trot is a fundraising event for Helios Care which helps them to continue to serve families and community members in Otsego County dealing with life threatening illness with family support, grief support, pain relief and symptom management.
