The United Way of Delaware/Otsego Counties has launched a two-county community food drive to address the issue of food insecurities locally.

The United Way is seeking host sites for the food collection. Non-perishable items will then be distributed back to local feeding programs where it will be used to replenish local pantries.

Last year’s collection included 23 host sites that provided donations to 16 food programs locally. The drive started Sunday and will conclude Sept. 13.

Community partner, Hannaford Supermarkets, will be the collection site for businesses to drop off their donations.

Host sites are invited to set up in the parking lot with their collections to show community support of hunger issues.
