The skies above Cooperstown's Lake Otsego are usually filled with flocks of Canadian geese this time of the year.  But Saturday it was a flock of a different color.

A squadron of U.S. Army national Guard Blackhawk helicopters conducted a training schedule over Cooperstown on Saturday.  The Army birds could be seen over the lake, near the helipad by the Corning gymnasium and other places.

Four UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters – two from Albany, the other two from Utica – landed at the Bassett Helipad where a crowd gathered to watch the exercises and ask questions of commanders between training sessions. According to officials over four dozen soldiers were involved in the training. The aircraft are members of the Alpha Company, 3rd Battalion, 142 Aviation Division out of Albany Airport.

Our friend and listener Cody Moore provided us with some great photos of this special event.
