How I love summer...let me count the ways. They are simple joys but they bring a smile to my face, my top ten favorite things about summer.

Flip flops

Easy going footwear that is close to being bare foot. Flip flops go with everything in the summer.

Flowers

Beautiful flowers everywhere whether planted or wild...love them!

Swimming

Something about splashing around always makes me feel like a kid.

Fresh cut hay

The smell is so sweet. Takes me back to childhood and growing up on a farm. The aroma immediately makes me smile.

Campfires

Sitting around a campfire can be so relaxing. No phones or television, just hanging out.

Fresh produce

Mmmm...eating nature's best. Fruits and veggies always taste so much better when they are just picked.

Ice cream

No explanation needed.

Grilling

Chillin' and grillin'. Cooking outdoors and barbequing everything from hotdogs to pineapple. Bobby Flay is really on to something.

Sunshine

Bright, sunny days produce so much energy and good feelings. You are beautiful, Mr. Sun!

Being at the beach

Toes in the sand, cooler packed, a nice breeze off the water, what a great summer day. I keep waiting for everyone to break into song like the old Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello beach movies. It will happen one day, besides of in my head.
