Chenango County Sheriff’s officials say they cleaned up a Tent City along the banks of the Chenango River behind the North Plaza on property owned by the City of Norwich May 1.

Authorities say the cleanup started in February but was stalled by bad weather.  The effort has yielded between 50 and 60 used needles, filled sixteen 50-gallon trash bags and took several hours.

Chenango County Sheriff’s staff, the Norwich Fire Department, Oxford Fire Department and the Norwich Department of Public Works all participated in the cleaning up of the location.
