Before you add a bunch of people to a group text, take a second to learn why New Yorkers say it's causing more harm than good and why we're fed up with it.

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) just released a warning about text messaging scams. Yes, it's a thing.

It doesn't matter which way we spin it; breaking up stinks. (Unless, of course, you're the breaker-upper, in which case it's like a cause for celebration.) Either way, cutting the relationship cord has gotten a bit easier ever since text messaging hit the scene. As it turns out, break up texts can be hilarious.

Governor Andrew Cuomo has proposed stricter penalties for texting while driving in New York. Drivers caught texting will now get five points on their license instead of three.

Texting while driving? Dangerous. Texting while walking? Generally just a bit impolite if you're in a crowded area. At least, that's normally the case. If you live near a cliff, it might not be a great idea.

Since the texting while driving law went into effect a year ago, New York State issued four times as many tickets for texting while driving.
