Today in music history, June 28,  we go back to to 1997, when Puff Daddy and Faith Evans started a three week run at number one on the U.K. singles chart with "I'll Be Missing You".  The single went number one in the U.S. June 14 that year and stayed on top for eleven weeks.  The single was in memory of rap artist, NOTORIOUS B.I.G., who was murdered  March 9, that same year.

I was watching VH1's "40 Greatest Hip Hop Songs of the 90s (Hour 2)" when the 1997 song "Mo' Money Mo' Problems" from Notorious B.I.G. featuring Mase and Sean Combs (called Puff Daddy at that time) came on.  The guest commentators starting talking about the song and the genius of using Diana Ross's "I'm Coming Out".  Wait a minute, what?!
