Back=to-school season is in full swing, and even though the end of summer pretty much stinks, heading back to class doesn't have to. Why? For starters, it's the perfect time to sport some apples and notebooks and maybe even a pencil or two on those nails.

Let's imagine you're ordering a pizza online. Before clicking "order," have you ever noticed that small area where you can write comments or additional directions? As far as we're concerned, this feature is highly underused, because this is where pizza box art is born.

From Friday, April 26, 2013 until Saturday, May 18th, the very awesome Gallery 1988 (West) is hosting The Official Bad Robot Art Experience, a gallery of artwork inspired by wunderkind producer/director/god of all things geek J.J. Abrams.

The Norwich Merchants Association and the Artists' Palette in downtown Norwich will hold the second of four Friday art walks through downtown Norwich on Feb. 22. Art by local artists will be displayed in downtown store fronts. Jill Kraft, owner of the Artists' Palette, says the walk begins at 5 p.m. and afterword people can visit the Artists' Palette from 6-8 p.m. for more.

We've been mourning the sad loss of 'Calvin and Hobbes' ever since cartoonist Bill Watterson stopped producing the beloved comic strip in 1995. But apparently the strip hasn't gone completely forgotten, since a piece of original 'Calvin and Hobbes' artwork recently broke a record at auction by selling for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

This makes a lot of sense -- it's a sculpture of Honey Boo Boo, made out of 25 pounds of garbage. We see some I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, and a box of spaghetti. Looks like maybe some Snuggie packaging is in there too.
