When the song was released, it was widely speculated to be about Alanis' ex, 'Full House' star Dave Coulier. However, the actor now claims the song wasn't inspired by him.

Alanis Morissette, born in Ottawa Canada on June 1, 1974, became a female rock icon in the 1990's.  Her first internationally released album, "Jagged Little Pill" climbed to number one on the U.S. album chart on this day, March 10, 1996.  Morissette was the first female Canadian to achieve this.

Alanis Morissette‘s first album in four years, ‘Havoc and Bright Lights,’ is scheduled for an August release, but fans don’t have to wait that long to get their first taste of the new music. The first single from the record, ‘Guardian,’ was released online this week.
