State Senator James Seward will be in Onondaga County later this morning to take part in a New York State Education Committee hearing at City Hall in Syracuse.

One topic of discussion is “The Regents Reform Agenda: Assessing Our Progress.” This is the second of four hearings to review reforms made by the New York State Board of Regents and to focus on several other major issues confronting educators including state assessments, implementation of common core state standards and student privacy.

Seward says it’s vital to review the effectiveness of new tools to determine if they are providing students with the right tools to succeed in school and in life.
