The Otsego County Department of Health (OCDH) reported a significant increase in COVID-19 cases yesterday. 83 more SUNY Oneonta students were confirmed to have the virus, bringing the total now to 177 among that student population. 44 of those are quarantining on campus and 65 are in isolation on campus. A couple of other cases were confirmed by OCDH outside of the SUNY Oneonta population - there is one community member confirmed and Hartwick College now reports one additional student with the virus. This second case is unrelated to the first case, and the student is isolating at home.

The Department of Health is responsible for contact tracing and will notify individuals with whom she/he may have had contact.

There are no current hospitalizations related to this virus in the county. Health officials are advising that area residents who suspect they may have been in contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus, they should quarantine at home and contact OCDH at (607) 547-4230.

In Delaware County, Delaware County Public Health is reporting one new case of COVID-19, no hospitalizations and 24 people are in mandatory quarantine. That brings the total case count to 107 (number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic).

In Chenango County, the health department is reporting via the New York State COVID-19 Tracker that there are 3 active cases of COVID-19 bringing the total up to 227 confirmed cases since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis. There are currently 2 hospitalizations related to the virus and 71 people in quarantine.

The Governor and all of our county health departments are advising diligence with handwashing, wearing masks in public, and for everyone to continue with social distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19.
