Schumer Seeks Federal Help With Drug Abuse
U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer is seeking federal help with New York’s war on opioid addiction and abuse. The federal Drug Enforcement Agency is building four special heroin enforcement teams and during a press conference on Sunday he asked the agency to station one of those teams in New York. The four teams are comprised of over 40 DEA agents who are experts in drug interdiction and are to work with state and local authorities to target opioid traffickers.
