It’s a busy weekend for the city of Norwich.

Events include: the World's Largest Yard Sale from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the Chenango County Fairgrounds; the Chenango County SPCA annual dog walk at 9 a.m. at Weiler Park, and the annual Pumpkin Festival that starts Friday night.

Pumpkin Fest has become a celebration of fall over the last few years. The event gets underway Friday night with Fritz’s Polka Band and the giant pumpkin contest in West Side Park. There will also be a karaoke contest on stage in East Side Park.

There are, of course, thousands of pumpkins on display as well as vendors and activities for the whole family.

Pumpkin fest will wrap up Saturday with live music from the Kolby Oakley band as well as Rooster and the Road House Horns and the annual fireworks display will take place around 9 p.m.
