Owen Wilson was looking to add a bit more authenticity to the movie character he's portraying, so he took about 45 minutes out of his day to visit a Saratoga Springs tobacco shop to learn the subtle nuances associated with smoking a pipe.

Owen Wilson has played some hilarious characters in many of the funniest comedies to hit the box office within the last 15-20 years. In case you need a refresher course, movies like "Zoolander", "Meet the Fockers" and "Wedding Crashers" are just a few of the absolute smash hits in which Owen Wilson played a character that took the movie to the next level.

By now, you may have heard or seen that Wilson is currently in the Saratoga area working a new comedy called "Paint" in which he plays a character named "Carl Nargle."

"Paint" is about an artist who paints on Vermont’s most popular TV show; think Bob Ross with a bit of a misshapen nose. Nargle is quite the character with his 70's afro, distinct clothing, and signature pipe to puff on.

Kyle Kommer, the manager of James and Sons Tobacconists says that Owen Wilson came into the Saratoga Springs smoke shop on Wednesday without any fanfare, he had no entourage and he was also without a lighter. Kommer, who goes by the nickname "Moe" says that Wilson did bring his own classic-looking pipe and tobacco, but he needed some help.

According to Moe, Wilson was in there looking to get a little tutorial on how to properly pack a pipe and he spent some time learning the ropes from a loyal customer names Bill, who's been coming to James and Sons Tobacconists for about 30 years.

Moe said that Wilson was polite, friendly, down-to-earth, and a quick learner.
