Yesterday in Otsego County Court, a decision was handed down In just over three hours, regarded the case of a Decatur woman charged in the deaths of her infant twins.  According to AllOTSEGO, 27-year-old Kimberly Steeley was found not guilty in the June 2018 deaths of her infant twins, Bonde and Liam.

Andrew Van Buren, Steely's attorney, convinced the jury that the prematurely born babies died as a result of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) – in part, because they had come home from the hospital too soon. Steeley had testified that although she did fall asleep in bed with both of them on the nights they died, at no point was her body, bedding or clothing obstructing their airways.
