Otsego County Fair NYS Sire Stakes Harness Racing [Photos]

Yesterday I did something that I never did before at the Otsego County Fair.  Now that is hard to say considering I've exhibited and attended the fair for many (over thirty...almost forty) years.  I don't know why I have never done this, I mean it has always been there and I've done it at other places.  Why not?  Well yesterday I did something different.   I attended the NYS Sire Stakes Harness Racing at the fair sponsored by Leatherstocking Equine Clinic, Vernon Downs, and Tioga Downs.  I really enjoyed it.

The kids picked their favorite horses  and then we cheered like crazy.  What a great reason to yell and be loud.  Luke Miller, fair president, and Pat Coleman of Oneonta Ford hosted the race day.  T-shirts were thrown into the crowd throughout the event, 4-H kids helped in the stands, and spectators really had a good time.

We'll definitely go again next year.
