The United States Colored Troops Institute for Local History and Family Research at Hartwick College in Oneonta is proceeding with a commemoration of the famed Tenth Cavalry Regiments, dubbed the "Buffalo Soldiers."

The June issue of the USCT Civil War Digest, out today, is devoted to the heroics of the Buffalo Soldiers extending from the Spanish American War through World War II. The eight-page publication commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Tenth Cavalry that held an encampment in Oneonta on June 28, 1913.

White House staff and representatives of the National Park Service also continue finalizing the preparation of Youngsholm in Wilberforce, OH, as a monument to Colonel Charles Young of the Ninth and Tenth Cavalry Regiments.
