A drainage improvement project in the city of Oneonta that is scheduled to start Monday will create some disruptions for property owners and residents.

The project consists of a new underground storm drainage system on both Park St. and Herkimer St. The streets will be milled and paved.

There will be a new curb and sidewalk and a gas main will be replaced by NYSEG on Park St. This work will result in times when private entrances are inaccessible as new curbs, sidewalk and storm drains are installed.

On-street parking will not be allowed between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

The city of Oneonta and its contractors will make every effort to keep one lane open to through traffic, but there may be times when the road is closed. This work on Park St. and Herkimer St. should be completed by July 26.
