Oneonta Pridefest 2022 Draws Big Gathering; Next Up Pride Prom

Usually, rainbows are a rarity and if seen, naturally make you smile and feel special but there was no shortage of rainbows in Neahwa Park on Saturday for the Otsego Pride Alliance Pridefest 2022.

It was a perfectly gorgeous day, adding Pridefest rainbows to the natural beauty of spring in the park. It's accurate to say, it was a feast for the eyes with all the color! Vendors, organizations with informational tables supporting LGBTQ+, and of course entertainment was enjoyed by a large crowd in the park.

On the heels of Pridefest 2022's success, the LGBTQ+ community can look forward to another upcoming event to enjoy. Bigger Dreams Productions is going to hold a "Pride Prom" event for the first time in Oneonta at Foothills Performing Arts Center, June 30 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Pride Prom will be held in the production center building at Foothills. This event is for 18 and older with alcohol available to those 21 and older.

According to Bigger Dreams Production, a theater production company based in Oneonta, 25% of the proceeds from Pride Prom will be donated to Otsego Pride Alliance which began back in 2017 with a mission is to "celebrate diversity, raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues, and build community by having fun together".
