A failed restaurant in Downtown Oneonta, which closed its doors for good within the first six months of opening in May of 2019, was a topic of conversation at Oneonta's Common Council meeting Tuesday evening.

According to AllOTSEGO, up for discussion was whether or not to release the city’s $50,000 mortgage on the Bombers’ Burrito Bar property for just $5,000 to the state Business Development Corp. It's a case of settling or putting faith in some local interested buyers.

In the end, it came to a 5 - 3 vote on tabling the motion for releasing the mortgage and seeing if a buyer steps up to take over the property. Voting in favor of that were Len Carson, Kaytee Lipari Shue, Mark Davies, Scott Harrington, and John Rafter. Voting no on the issue: Luke Murphy, David Rissberger, and Mark Drnek.
