At the February 5 Otsego County Board of Representatives meeting, according to AllOTSEGO, there was an attempt by County Representative Ed Frazier, R-Unadilla, to block the new county-administrator position which failed. There was a resolution introduced to set the position's salary at $100,000. Frazier said the money can be better used. Following debate which can be seen in the video of the meeting below, only Keith McCarty, R-East Springfield, voted against setting the salary level and advertising to fill the new position. The county board also approved raising the county bed tax by 2 percent.
