New York’s College-In-Prison Program Expanding
According to Governor Cuomo's office, New York State will pump over $7 million into expanding college education programs in prisons. The money for the College-in-Prison Reentry Program which is a joint program between Governor Andrew Cuomo’s administration and Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance is coming from settlements secured by Vance.
Seven colleges will begin or expand offerings for prisoners at 17 correctional facilities across New York including Mohawk Valley Community College.
