In the wake of the inevitable Miley Cyrus/Liam Hemsworth split, rumors -- many of them ludicrous -- have flown about what happened and when. The latest? Miley supposedly had a pregnancy scare that kept Liam around longer than he otherwise would've stayed.

The latest issue of OK! magazine reports Hemsworth was “ready to break up” with Cyrus earlier this year, but “a positive home pregnancy test changed everything.”

"Miley thought she was expecting and wanted to announce it to the world, even before she went to a doctor to verify the results," a supposed insider said. "Liam begged her not to go public yet. He was emotionally out of the romance for months by that point, though he was still sleeping with her."

What's more, the singer “essentially trapped Liam in the relationship, telling him that if he left her alone, she’d tell the world that he had abandoned her at such a delicate time.”

The tale makes for good tabloid headlines, but according to Gossip Cop, it's patently untrue. Spokespeople for both halves of the former couple say the pregnancy scare never happened, with Cyrus' mouthpiece calling the story “a complete fabrication.”

For her part, Miley told Fashion magazine (via Us Weekly) that she wanted to end the relationship back in February and wrote the song 'Drive' about "needing to leave someone but not really wanting to completely cut yourself off from the relationship. It's a time when you want to leave but you can't. It's also about moving on."

So is that the truth or did Liam dump her, as her recent tearful performances of 'Wrecking Ball' would seem to indicate? Hard to know for sure.
