Man Arrested for Mailing White Powder to Oneonta City Court

An Oneonta man is in Otsego County Jail on $50,000 cash bail after being arraigned Tuesday in Oneonta Town Court on an aggravated harassment charge.

Police say the arrest of James Hone, 58, is in connection with a February 3rd incident when Oneonta City Court employees opened a letter that contained white powder. It was determined that the substance posed no hazard.

The envelope allegedly had Hone's name and address on it.
