(Press release from League of Women Voters)

The Oneonta and Cooperstown chapters of the League of Women Voters invite the local community to attend a public Candidate Night, on Monday, October 17th in Morris Hall on the SUNY Oneonta campus.

The evening will feature two debates.  The first will be between the candidates for the District #51 seat in the New York State Senate: Jermain Bagnall-Graham and James Seward.  The second debate will be between William Magee and John Salka, the candidates vying to represent District #121 in the New York State Assembly.

Questions to the candidates will come from the attending audience and from a panel drawn from the  local news media.  To assure informative, respectful and fair exchanges, all the participants have agreed to abide by League debate guidelines, which are posted online on LWVOneonta.org.

The evening will also include presentations by the two candidates for a single seat on Oneonta’s Town Council: Randal Mowers and Michael Stolzer.

The full evening will be broadcast live on Cable Access Channel 23.  It will later be available for on-demand viewing at LWVOneonta.org.  A subsequent press release will provide the schedule for the re-broadcast schedule on Channel 23.

The sponsoring local Leagues thank all the candidates, SUNY/Oneonta and their Creative Media Services unit, and our many League volunteers for making this evening possible.
