Justin Bieber Drove Over 130 MPH Night of Arrest, Lawyers Seek to Block Private Photo Leak
It wouldn't be a normal day if there weren't news about Justin Bieber and his mounting legal problems.
New intel about his rate of speed, in relation to the Miami arrest last month, has been revealed. Meanwhile, his lawyers are desperate to block the release of some private pics of the teen pop icon.
The Biebs was accused of drag racing in Miami while under the influence. His tox report revealed weed and Xanax in his system.
Turns out that during the night, he was driving at a high rate of speed, as the GPS in the rented Lamborghini clocked him at 136 MPH a few hours prior to his arrest. But he was not drag racing during the time he was accused of doing so.
TMZ got its mitts on the GPS report, which indicates that The Biebs clocked 108 MPH on the Julia Tuttle Causeway in Miami Beach at 1:20 AM and within a minute, he hit 136 MPH. Yikes. That's super dangerous, whether totally sober or not.
While he did hit a seriously high rate of speed during the night, the GPS read out says he hit 27 MPH during the time he was said to be drag racing. That rate falls below the speed limit. So he wasn't doing what he was accused of.
In other news, his legal team is asking the judge to block the release of further footage and photos of The Biebs in custody after his arrest to the media. He was partially clothed during this time.
Papers filed on Friday, Feb. 7 read as such:
While in custody at the Miami Beach police station the defendant was captured on videotape in various states of undress which show intimate personal parts of the defendant's body."
The state's constitution and law prevent the images from being publicly issued. A video from that night has indeed been leaked and that is said to violate the law. A variety of news sources have made public records requests to review the footage from the arrest.
We've said this before, but WHAT a mess.
