Beginning November 1, 2024, The Farmers’ Museum will officially change its name to Fenimore Farm & Country Village. The decision to adopt this new name reflects the museum's desire to honor the property’s historical roots while better conveying its modern focus. The newly named Fenimore Farm & Country Village will continue its role as a center for education, preserving artifacts of rural heritage, and serving as a hub for community engagement.

The new name, Fenimore Farm & Country Village, highlights the museum's vibrant setting and diverse offerings. Visitors can explore a wide range of experiences, from a scenic rural landscape and a historically preserved village to seasonal events, hands-on programs, and a functioning farm. This rebranding also strengthens the connection to the Fenimore Art Museum, which was part of the same original property. By returning to the property's original name, the museum seeks to provide a clearer representation of its mission to visitors.

Despite the name change, the museum’s core mission and popular events will remain the same. Signature programs such as the Harvest Festival and Glimmer Nights will continue to engage and entertain local audiences as well as visitors from further afield.

In addition to the new name, the museum will unveil a refreshed graphic identity and launch a new website—FenimoreFarm.org—on November 1. This transformation is supported by a Market New York grant from Empire State Development and I LOVE NY, New York State’s Division of Tourism, ensuring that the museum continues to grow and thrive as an essential cultural destination in the region.
