The Tioga County Sheriff's Office is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating Mark J. Klotz, a 47-year-old man from Nichols, New York, who has been missing for over a month.

Klotz was last seen on Church Street in Tioga, reportedly walking towards Nichols and potentially headed to the state of Pennsylvania on July 10, 2024.

Description of Mark Klotz

Mark Klotz is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing around 170 pounds. He was last seen with brown/grey hair, blue eyes, and a goatee. Notable features include a neck tattoo of a gecko and tattoos of Chinese writing on both legs.

Community Concern

In response to the disappearance of Klotz, concerned community members took to the Tioga County Sheriff’s Facebook page to share their thoughts.

Carol Jacobs expressed frustration, noting, "That's over a month ago! We need to stop waiting so long for official missing persons. You can't help someone when you arrive 6 weeks too late!" Kailyn Edwards questioned the timing of the post, asking, "Why is it just being posted now if he was last seen on July 10?" Mary Ann Pipher showed empathy, saying, "Poor man is out there lost and confused... I hope he is found safe."
